The deployment of advanced Internet of Things (IoT) services requires strict communication requirements which will be achieved by 5G. The release 15 provided by 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) introduced a Service Based Architecture (SBA) with softwarization, virtualization (e.g. docker containers) and network slicing. This project focuses on the integration of a non-3GPP IoT network to 5G core through open source project implementation (e.g. free5GC, Open5GS).
Outcome:
- Develop skills on network software system;
- Develop novel solution to integrate non-3GPP IoT to 5G core.
