SV4D-MZ: Signature of Memorandum of Understanding initiates a new stage of development for the Digital Agenda of CPLP

Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the partners of Sustainable Villages for Development in Mozambique (SV4D-MZ) project. The signature will occur during the 8th Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries Communications Forum, which will take place on February 15th and 16th, in Guinea Bissau.

 

Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS, Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (ARCTEL-CPLP) and National Communications Institute of Mozambique (INCM) are working to implement the first pilot of sustainable villages for development with broadband Internet access. The first tests will be held on the Zambézia province, being the goal of the pilot project to improve the quality of life of the communities and to reduce the Digital Divide. The three institutions are going to meet on the 8th Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries Communications Forum and will officialise the partnership with the signature of the MoU.

The Digital Agenda is the main topic of the forum. The initiative will also focus on the promotion of infrastructures and broadband networks, as well the universalization of access to information and communication technologies in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries. The information society and the digital inclusion will be also promoted during the event.
