The goal of Fraunhofer Best Portuguese PhD/MSc Thesis in Biomedical Engineering Competition is to distinguish PhD and MSc thesis sponsored by the Portuguese Society of Biomedical Engineering.

 

Fraunhofer AICOS has been always supportive of fostering motivation and awarding scientific excellence.

The finalists for the Fraunhofer Best Portuguese PhD/MSc Thesis in Biomedical Engineering competition have been announced:


PhD thesis finalists:

> Microwave Breast Imaging using Dry Setup by João Felício;

> Magnetic carbon nanostructures and study of their transport in microfluidic devices for hyperthermia by Raquel O. Rodrigues, Rui Lima, Helder T. Gomes and Adrián M.T. Silva;

MSc thesis finalists:

> Feedback-Error Learning for Powered Assistive Devices by Pedro Nuno Fernandes, Joana Figueiredo, Juan C. Moreno and Cristina Manuela Peixoto Santos;

> CopyRobot : interactive mirroring robotics game for ASD children by Laura Santos;

> Neuromechanical and Environment Aware Machine Learning Tool for Human Locomotion Intent Recognition by Simão Carvalho, Joana Figueiredo and Cristina Santos

The winners will be revealed on September 26th, at MEDICON2019, the 15th Mediterranean Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing.

MEDICON2019 will be organized for the first time in Portugal and it is hosted at the University of Coimbra, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
