Every year, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft organizes a Fraunhofer International Day, an event that brings together the Fraunhofer community, dozens of outstanding research partners and companies from around the world.
This year, the event happened in March, in Munich, under the topic of health. The goal was to gather experts from the various Fraunhofer institutions and project groups, from Germany and abroad, to present their ongoing activities, reflect and discuss on current trends and innovations on the topic.
Representing FhP-AICOS, Liliana Ferreira (Director) and Manuel Monteiro (Head of New Business Development) participated in the Fraunhofer International Day, where they addressed some of our solutions in the topic of health, one of our innovation themes and to which we have been dedicating our work and research.
However, the Fraunhofer International Day turned out to be much more special as FhP-AICOS’ Director and President of the Executive Board of Fraunhofer Portugal, Liliana Ferreira, was granted the prestigious Fraunhofer Thaler Award. By the hands of Johann Feckl, the award was granted for “outstanding leadership and significant achievements in the field of applied research".
“The Executive Board awards medals of honor in recognition of services rendered to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in a wide variety of ways. Personalities from outside the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as well as employees of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft may be honored. This prestigious award is presented to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft”, explains a representative from the organization.
